British man extradited from Malta to UK after 16 years

1st Apr 2020

Christopher Guest More Jr has been extradited to the UK from Malta where he is wanted in connection with his alleged involvement in the murder of Brian Waters in Tabley near Knutsford on 19 June 2003.

Mr Waters, a cannabis farmer, was tortured and killed in front of his two adult children over what was believed to be a drug debt. Three men are currently serving life sentences having been convicted of Mr Waters’ murder and the police believe that Mr Guest More Jr was also present at the attack.

Mr Guest More Jr was arrested in Malta in June 2019 following the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant (“EAW”). UK authorities this week arranged for his transfer from Corradino Correctional Facility to Malta International Airport and then on to the UK.

On arrival Mr Guest More Jr attended Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday 30 March where he was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court the following day.
