British businessman David Noakes, whose extradition to France on nine charges (including the marketing of unauthorised medicines) was ordered on 7 November 2019, was arrested in Cornwall on 20 May 2020 after five months as a fugitive.
Mr Noakes was previously sentenced to 15 months’ imprisonment in the UK after he pleaded guilty in 2018 at Southwark Crown Court to charges of money laundering and the manufacture, supply and sale of an unlicensed medicine, the cancer drug GcMAF.
Mr Noakes has been wanted by police since 13 December 2019when he failed to report to Bournemouth Police Station in accordance with his bail conditions, while challenging the 7 November order. Police received a tip-off as to his location.
