17th Dec 2017

Jamaica has received several extradition requests from the US for people the US suspects of being involved in a lottery scam that is estimated to have been worth around $1bn a year. Jamaica’s Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has acknowledged the requests and pledged to deal with them quickly, although most of the wanted people have yet to be arrested. He also said that Jamaican and US law enforcement agencies were investigating between 3,000 and 5,000 lottery scam cases and that up to 300 had reached pre-extradition.
